Charles Masubi began his tenure at AngloGold Ashanti in the role of Organizational Development Manager at Geita in October 2012. Before joining AGA, he was part of Universal Leaf Africa, a tobacco processing firm. Prior to this, he had been employed by Tanzania Breweries Limited, which was then a subsidiary of SABMiller.

With over 20 years of experience as an HR specialist, Charles has worked in various multinational corporations within Tanzania. He currently leads the HR department at Geita Gold Mining Limited as the Senior Manager of Human Resources, a position he has maintained for 11 years. As the Functional Head, Charles directly reports to the Vice President of Human Resources for Africa and has had several opportunities to act in that very capacity.

Born and raised in Tanzania, Charles boasts a strong academic background. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management (MsM) and the Eastern & Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI). Additionally, he has an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Mzumbe, which was formerly known as the Institute of Development Management (IDM) – Mzumbe.

Throughout his career, Charles has seen significant growth in the HR field, ascending from junior roles to more senior positions. His journey in HR has been fulfilling, and he remains passionate about his work.
