CPA. Godvictor Lyimo currently holds the position of Senior Manager- Tax & Disputes Resolutions at AngloGold Ashanti – Geita Gold Mine. With a solid background in tax and auditing, Lyimo boasts over 19 years of experience in East Africa.

In 2008, Lyimo earned a spot on the Board of AngloGold Ashanti – Geita Gold Mining Limited, serving as the Company Secretary and Secretary to the Board. Additionally, he took on roles as the Tax Manager and Business Manager. Beyond these positions, he contributes to the broader industry as the Honorary Treasurer of the Tanzania Chamber of Mines and holds chairmanship for the Finance Committee. Moreover, he presides as the President of the Tanzania Association of Accountants.

Lyimo’s expertise extends to the mining sector, having been associated with it since 2004. Before his tenure with AngloGold Ashanti, he held a significant position as the Senior Tax Consultant at Deloitte Consulting Limited, a renowned international audit and professional services firm. There, he managed tax, financial audits, and advisory services across East Africa.

Educationally, Lyimo is a trained economist and has contributed to the field through various published articles and presentations. Registered as a Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors in Tanzania, he is a seasoned financial auditor. His academic accolades also include a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Over his impressive 18-year career span in operations, business development, and corporate roles, Lyimo has handled line responsibilities across East Africa, working for prominent multinational corporations.
