Looking ahead, Gabriel sees safer, smarter production leading the way. He points to stronger digital dispatch, improved equipment availability, and practical automation and remote operations as trends making underground work more predictable, disciplined, and sustainable.
His advice to young mining engineers is simple and relevant: “Master the fundamentals underground, then use data and technology to strengthen execution, not replace it.”
