The 9th National Mining Technology Exhibition came to a close over the weekend, marking the end of a week that brought together government, mining companies, innovators, suppliers and communities in Geita. Closing the exhibition on behalf of President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba called for continued collaboration and responsible management of Tanzania’s mineral resources to support the ambitions of National Development Vision 2050. Access to quality healthcare begins with having the right facilities where communities need them. Geita Gold Mine recently handed over healthcare facilities at Nyakagomba, contributing to efforts to strengthen local health infrastructure and bring essential services closer to communities across Geita Region, home to more than 3 million people. The need remains significant. Geita Gold Mine recently welcomed Tanzania’s National Mine Closure Committee to review our Mine Closure Plan. The engagement reinforces our commitment to responsible mining and to planning for the future throughout the life of the mine. The review covered environmental rehabilitation, health and safety, land management and community wellbeing.
