Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) joined government leaders, the Tanzania Police Force, community representatives and programme participants last week to celebrate another milestone in the Community Policing Programme.
This year marks the programme’s 11th year since its establishment in 2015, reflecting more than a decade of collaboration between GGML, the Tanzania Police Force and neighbouring communities to promote safety and security in Geita.
Speaking during the ceremony, our Managing Director, Ashraf Suryaningrat, highlighted the programme as a strong example of partnership, trust and shared responsibility for security in Geita.

Established through collaboration between GGML, the Tanzania Police Force, and neighboring communities, the Community Policing Programme empowers local people to play an active role in promoting peace, preventing crime, and supporting lawful behavior.
Over the years, hundreds of community members have received training through the programme, gaining valuable skills and experience while contributing to safer communities. These collaborative efforts have helped reduce illegal intrusions, strengthen relationships between the mine and surrounding communities, and create a safer environment for everyone.

The programme reflects GGML’s commitment to working alongside its host communities to build a safer, more secure Geita. Partnership and shared purpose are key to protecting people, communities, and our operations.
