GGML Women Leaders Graduate from the Female Future Tanzania Leadership Programme

Last week, GGML joined the Association of Tanzanian Employers (ATE) for the Female Future Tanzania Annual Leadership Conference and Cohort 11 graduation ceremony, bringing together employers, development partners, and emerging women leaders from across the country.

At this year’s event, GGML participated as an Emerald Sponsor, demonstrating its support for initiatives that expand leadership opportunities for women across organisations in Tanzania.

For the past decade, GGML has participated in the Female Future Programme, a leadership development initiative designed to strengthen women’s representation in decision-making roles. The company first joined the programme in 2016 and has since supported 31 women employees through the training.

This year, GGML celebrates five colleagues who successfully graduated from Cohort 11: Clara Tuwart, Esther Maghembe, Mary Frank, Scholastica Kabonge, and Caroline Lyimo.

Their graduation is both a personal milestone and a contribution to strengthening leadership capacity within the organisation.

The graduation ceremony was attended by the Speaker of Parliament, Mussa A. Zungu, who attended as guest of honor. In his remarks, he emphasised that “women are essential leaders” and reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to championing women’s rights and equality. He highlighted the importance of ensuring the right to education and the right for women to take leadership roles, noting that these are fundamental to achieving sustainable development in Tanzania.

Aligned with the spirit of International Women’s Day, this year’s Female Future theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For all Women and Girls,” reflects how investing in women strengthens teams, organisations, and communities.

Looking ahead, GGML will continue participating in the programme by enrolling four additional employees into the next Female Future cohort, continuing efforts to support women leaders who are helping shape the next chapter of the organisation and an inclusive and empowered Tanzanian workforce.
