For a student with a dream of becoming an engineer, doctor, or scientist, opportunity can begin with something as simple as entering a laboratory and seeing science come alive.
Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) has completed the technical handover of six laboratories at Butobela, Everest, and Nyaruyeye Secondary Schools, strengthening spaces where students can experiment, question, discover, and imagine what their futures could hold.

The investment advances Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education and Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, two ambitions that meet powerfully in the classroom. By improving access to practical science education, we are helping create an environment where more young people, particularly girls, can build confidence and pursue pathways in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

For us, this is about more than laboratories. It is about widening opportunity, supporting women’s empowerment from the classroom onwards, and helping nurture the next generation of Tanzanian problem-solvers.
